About Us

Who We Are

We are a family of believers

who seek to live out our faith in all we do.

A Growing Body of Believers

Antioch Baptist Church is a growing body of believers located in the White Cross community, west of Chapel Hill. We are committed to worshiping and serving Jesus Christ, to encouraging one another toward Christian growth and discipleship, and to serving God’s purpose in the wider world.

At heart, we are a “family” church in (we hope) the best sense of the term. We believe that the “body of Christ” – the church – ought to be a place that unites, equips, and cares for people of all ages, backgrounds and stations of life. That’s why you will find ministries here that are geared to various life stages and needs… and the willingness to begin new ones as needs emerge.

Because we believe the Bible is God’s inspired message to us and offers the answers to our deepest needs, we take its teaching seriously and attempt to make it the rule and guide of our lives.

Because we believe that God desires to establish a personal relationship with everyone and has called us to be his “ambassadors,” we are committed to sharing our faith, not only through our testimonies, but also through acts of service and through missions worldwide.

Because we believe that God loves everyone, and because we have experienced this love ourselves, we are committed to demonstrating His love. Whatever your circumstance – single, married, single again, with or without children- and no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, we want you to know that you matter to God… and to us.

Finally, because none of us can do God’s work all on our own, we are also committed to cooperating with other churches and specialized ministries. Currently our primary affiliations are with the Mount Zion Baptist Association (headquartered in Burlington, NC), the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and the Southern Baptist convention.

The voice of the LORD is powerful;
The voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
Psalm 29:4

We Offer These Opportunities for Discipleship and Fellowship

God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land. Psalm 68:6

Follow His Word

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.  If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
Romans 12: 6-8
