Where Will You Go When You Die?

The Bible says you can know.

Death is something every one of us will face, but the Bible says that our story does not end there. More importantly, God has made a way for us to have forgiveness, peace with Him, and eternal life through Jesus Christ.

The Problem

God is perfect. We are not.

Have you ever lied, even a small innocent little white lie?

Have you ever stolen, even a small pencil, or clocked out early from work?

How could a perfect God simply overlook our sin and remain perfectly just?

“For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”

Romans 3:23

The Result

Sin separates us from God.

If you were to die today, you would be separated from this perfect, sinless God forever.

The Bible tells us that God is love, light, good, and just. What would eternity be like separated from the source of all these things?

Doing good things doesn’t help. God’s standard is perfection, and no one measures up.

Humanity can not save itself.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 6:23

The good news.

God made a way.

God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus—the Son of God—became truly human, lived the perfect life we could never live, and willingly went to the cross.

He took the punishment our sins deserved.

Jesus died in our place.

But the story didn’t end at the cross.

Jesus rose from the dead.

He conquered sin and death, and He is alive today.

Because of what Jesus has done, God offers forgiveness and eternal life—not as something we can earn, but as a gift.

“But God demonstrates his love for us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

What must I do?

Turn to Jesus.

Faith means trusting in Jesus Christ—not trusting in your own goodness, your church attendance, your baptism, or your good works, but trusting in what Jesus has done for you.

You don’t earn your salvation, you receive it.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord shall be saved.”

Romans 10:13
