Daniel and Katie Butson

Daniel and Katie come to Antioch Baptist Church from Tampa, Florida where they were both born and raised. Daniel actually heard of Antioch while meeting a member of the church on a flight from Raleigh to Houston, as he was traveling to speak to a youth group in Texas.  After visiting Antioch and encountering the warm, humble and loving congregation he and his wife both knew this would be a place they could call “home.”

Daniel graduated from Florida State University and was preparing on attending law school before surrendering to God’s call to serve Him faithfully in ministry. Since his days at FSU, Daniel has served in leadership roles in both youth and college ministries and has also had the privilege to serve as a campaign manager and high school social sciences educator.  He is currently pursuing a Masters in Divinity in Christian Apologetics from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Daniel comments, “I have a passion for people, young and not so young, to come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ. As the Associate Pastor here at Antioch, my desire is to point people to the love, the eternal encouragement and the good hope that Christ has to offer! Students are confronting tough issues, challenges and questions almost daily in our schools and communities and it is my heart’s desire to walk alongside these students in their pursuit to find out what it looks like to be a Christ-follower and show each student the beauty of falling in love with an amazing God who is the source of all truth, goodness and salvation.
