About our Minister of Music
Victor R. Quick The “newest” member of our staff here at Antioch is Victor Quick. A native of Lillington, NC, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell University in 1982 with a major in “Philosophy and Religion.” Serving as Minister of Music came naturally, however, since he has been enthusiastically involved in some aspect of church music most of his life. During high school he was a member of the “Good News Singers” – a Christian group of some thirty teenagers that traveled throughout the state witnessing through song, scripture and personal testimony. In college, he was initially a “voice” major, and he met his wife in the Campbell University Touring Choir. He has also been a choir director or minister of music for most of his adult life, serving churches in Lillington, Fuquay-Varina, Four Oaks, Erwin, and Dunn, as well as Chapel Hill. Victor had served previously on the Antioch staff from 2003-2005, and the congregation was thrilled to welcome him back in February of 2008. In addition to his love of music, he is best known for his sense of humor; his gentle, encouraging spirit, and his positive attitude. Victor’s secular employment is in the area of water management – an interest that began shortly after college graduation. After beginning as the “plant manager” for a water plant near his home (“just to pay some bills”), he went on to earn various certifications in that field, and to make it his primary vocation. He is currently employed as “Utilities Director” for the City of Graham.
