About our Minister of Music
Victor R. Quick A native of Lillington, NC, Victor earned his Bachelor of Science degree in “Philosophy and Religion” from Campbell University in 1982. He has been active in church from his earliest recollection, and was ordained as a deacon by the Fellowship Baptist Church of Lillington at age 21. From his earliest years, Victor has also been interested in music. He remembers singing his first duet at age 5. During high school he became a member of the “Good News Singers” – a Christian group of some thirty teenagers that traveled throughout the state. Still later, he began college as a “voice” major, and met his wife in the Campbell University Touring Choir. With this background, assisting as a worship leader and Minister of Music came early and naturally. After becoming the choir director at Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church during college, he has continued to fill a similar role for most of his adult life, serving on staff at churches in Lillington, Fuquay-Varina, Four Oaks, Erwin, Dunn, and Chapel Hill. Victor’s secular employment is in the area of water management – an interest that began shortly after college graduation when he became manager of a water plant near home “just to pay some bills.” He went on to earn the highest level of certification in both water and wastewater treatment, and now instructs in those areas for Alamance Community College, the state of North Carolina, and the NC Department of Environmental Resources. He also holds current certifications in several related areas, and has served as chairman for a number of professional organizations throughout North Carolina and the southeastern United States. He is currently employed as “Utilities Director” for the City of Graham. Victor and his wife Gail have been married for 25 years, and have two children – Courtney and Joshua.
