About our Administrative Assistant

 

Jessica Burton 

Jessica came to Antioch as our temporary office assistant when Mayling Blackwood began maternity leave in December 2010.  The daughter and great-granddaughter of pastors (her father currently serves Faith Baptist in King's Mountain, NC), Jessica is also married to a minister.  Her husband, Jason, currently serves as Associate Pastor and Minister of Music at Pinecroft Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. 

Jessica and Jason met at Gardner Webb University where they both majored in music, and Jessica worked as an admissions counselor.  After earning her Bachelors of Music degree, Jessica taught music and theater at both the middle school and high school level.  She has also taught piano for about 10 years to students of all ages. 

Jessica reports that she loves “ministering through song and service in missions to others.”  It comes as no surprise, then, that one of her favorite activities is participating in mission trips.  So far, she has served in Colorado, South Carolina, Florida, and Nevada. 

She and Jason live in Liberty, NC and have one son, Jeremiah, born in July 2010.
